• Contract Performance: Processing is necessary to perform our service agreement with you (providing the Vybmeet matching and messaging platform).
• Legal Obligation: We process data to comply with laws, court orders, and regulatory requirements.
• Legitimate Interests: We process data for safety, fraud prevention, and service improvement—where our interests do not override your fundamental rights.

4. Information We Collect

When you use Vybmeet, we collect information you provide directly. This may include your name, email address, profile photo, age range, interests, selected vibe/activity, availability status, approximate location, app activity, and device information.

• Profile Data: Name, age, email, photos, bio, interests, and selected moods/activities.
• Location Data: Your approximate location (neighborhood level) when you go online.
• Biometric Data (Premium Users): For identity verification, we collect a selfie and a government-issued ID/Passport. These are processed by AI solely for verification and are permanently deleted within 48 hours.

5. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to create your account, show relevant nearby users, suggest activities, improve app performance, prevent abuse, and provide user support.

• Provide and improve the Vybmeet service and match you with nearby users.
• Facilitate safe connections and prevent abuse through automated AI moderation.
• Human Intervention: You have the right to contest any automated decision (such as an automated account flag). To request a human review, contact privacy@vybmeet.com.

6. Location Privacy

VybMeet uses approximate location to show nearby users and suggest public meetup points. We do not display your exact location to other users. Your location is used only to support nearby matching and safety features.

• Your exact location is never collected or shared.
• We use approximate data (area level) only — other users simply see you as "nearby," never your precise coordinates.
• You maintain full control and can stop sharing by going offline.
• Location data is encrypted and deleted when your session ends.

Photos and Profile Content

Profile photos and information you upload may be visible to other users according to your app settings. Do not upload content you do not want others to see.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account directly in the app, where available, or by contacting us at privacy@vybmeet.com. After deletion, we will remove or anonymize your personal data unless we need to keep limited information for legal, security, or fraud-prevention reasons.

7. Data Security & Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain safety. We implement industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS and encryption at rest). Specific retention periods:

• Account data: Until you delete your account.
• Session data: Deleted after 30 days.
• Verification selfies/IDs: Deleted after 48 hours.
• Inactive Accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be anonymized or deleted.

8. Your GDPR Rights

If you are in the EU, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to the processing of your personal data. We will fulfill your request within 30 days.

• Right to be Informed & Access: Know how we use data and get a copy.
• Right to Rectification & Erasure: Update or delete your data/account.
• Right to Data Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format (e.g., JSON).

9. Your CCPA Rights (California Residents)

California residents have the Right to Know, Delete, Correct, and Limit the use of Sensitive Personal Information. Vybmeet does NOT sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

10. Third-Party Services & Recipients

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited data only with service providers that help us operate the app, such as hosting, analytics, authentication, or app performance tools.

• Cloud Infrastructure Providers: For secure data hosting and storage.
• Identity Verification Partners: For processing Premium ID checks.
• Security & Anti-Abuse Services: To detect and block fraudulent accounts.

11. International Data Transfers

Vybmeet operates globally. When we transfer data from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland to countries without an "adequacy decision," we ensure protection via Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other approved legal safeguards to ensure your privacy rights move with your data.

12. Children's Privacy

Vybmeet is not intended for users under 18. If we discover a minor's account, it will be deleted immediately.
